this combo does a lot of damage, more than enough to touch of death same tier armor. however, there are a few elements that can easily drop due to user error or terrain.

drag scroll wheel towards top of uppercut, hold dodge after the weapon swap.
if having trouble getting the double uppercut, hit first from the front of opponent. it launches them higher and gives you more time to land second.
use forward input to ensure you are ahead of opponent before the jumping horizontal.

with good sliding uppercut mechanics, this combo is very consistent and has good damage for time spent.

- if having trouble getting 3rd vertical attack, modify your landing position of the uppercut by holding forward.
- if having trouble getting the double uppercut, hit first from the front of opponent. it launches them higher and gives you more time to land second.

fun grapple combo with varying damage based on timing and terrain. landing two or more jumping horizontals outdamages the staple katana grapple combo, H (cc) H c.V (g) f.H/V.

- no directional inputs are needed until the second uppercut.
- use forward input to ensure you are ahead of opponent before the first jumping horizontal.

extremely consistent grapple combo that deals good damage in short time frame.

- use left or right directional input to shorten landing animation.

variant for those who feel more comfortable with grapple combos than sliding uppercuts. a bit more damage as a bonus.

another high damage weapon swap combo? yes, this time with katana and dual blades. if comfortable with weapon swapping, get a considerable damage increase over the standard katana grapple combo, without the complexity of the advanced katana combos.

release focus attack as soon as possible.
use left or right directional input to shorten landing animation.
if having trouble grappling in time, hold grapple input right after uppercut input and trigger grapple after you see or hear opponent get hit.

useful to send opponent away in the zone, or other undesirable places. can be followed up with range as well.

- land before first vertical attack.
- hold dodge (toothpick), mid dodge and crouch cancel are interchangeable.

the most reliable variant i've found for dagger katana swap combos without grapples. enough damage to be called a touch of death.

this starter can go into any katana uppercut combo; pretty strong. this works because the crouching horizontal restand and staggers the opponent.

in order to get restand, c.H might need to be delayed slightly.
hold dodge and back during vertical focus attack to ensure the dodge.
hold crouch during the crouch horizontal, as soon as that animation starts weapon swap to katana.
hold forward during the uppercut to adjust landing position for vertical strike.
hold left or right on uppercut landing to attack quicker.


high damaging dagger combo with pretty strict timing and spacing. what makes it special is the s.H c.H restands and staggers opponent; boosting this combos damage, which also opens up weapon swap uppercut combos. since this is pretty easy to mess up and soft true, it is probably only worth it if aiming for one of those touch of death combos.

really popular and simple dagger combo. covers a lot of distance so effected by terrain, for better or worse.

can be done without the leading focus attack.

really popular combo, likely due to how easy and consistent it is compared to other spear combos.

dragonslayer into the standard uppercut combo. a bit more damage the a complete dragonslayer, would benefit from a stronger uppercut combo. this also works off a parry.
can wait for two additional hits (4 total) and becomes soft true; adds an additional 152 (rare: 182 | epic: 212 | legendary: 243) damage.

press crouch after first two spinning hits.
can hold horizontal after the uppercut to ensure a jumping horizontal.

more damage than staple spear uppercut combo, but currently way less consistent.

- hold forward during uppercut to land closer to opponent.
- hold left or right when landing from uppercut.
- slightly delay jumping vertical, only attack if there is knockback.

dagger katana weapon swap with pretty strict timing and spacing. s.H c.H restands and staggers opponent and makes this combo possible. still gets a lot of damage out if dropped at the weapon swap.

hold crouch during sliding horizontal to crouch horizontal quickly.
hold crouch during the crouch horizontal, as soon as that animation starts weapon swap to katana.

a step in the right direction. this combo is more of a showcase of ... H H j.H H on katana. when attempting the better variants of this combo, there are a lot of situations where you don't have enough height. this makes up a bit of the damage. how soft true the final vertical attack varies, but without this damage is less than just ending with a focus attack...

space can be held before the second horizontal attack ends.
hold either forward or forward & right before/as the j.H starts.
hold left or right to cancel end of landing animation.

- can hold dodge or crouch cancel.
- can hold forward during uppercut to land closer.
- wait until landing to input first vertical attack.

high damaging combo for dual blades. is somewhat sensitive to uppercut height, if having trouble there is a sliding uppercut version with less damage.

- can hold back during the uppercut.

sliding horizontal variant makes the combo consistent for higher ping players.

- hold left or right to cancel end of landing animation.
- can hold back during the uppercut.

good damage, however less pressure than combos ending with the second vertical attack.

nunchuck uppercut combos all hover around the same damage. this has the highest damage but is the most sensitive to terrain.

- hold left or right to cancel end of landing animation.

less damage than other options but terrain resistant.

hold left or right to cancel end of landing animation.

- can hold crouch during first landing vertical.

over double the damage of full counterstrike.

if both jumping horizontal strikes don't hit, look to the slight left of opponent.

depending on how it's timed, this combo can either knock opponent away or to the ground, that's cool.

- slightly delay jumping vertical to keep opponent close.
- don't delay jumping vertical to knock opponent away.

although ending j.V is soft true, this combo already deals comparable damage to the standard j.H j.H (j) j.H j.H j.V without it. however, you either need flat terrain or terrain advantage for soulbreak to be guaranteed.

greatsword can set itself up with this one, although weapon swapping is more consistent and easier. but, y'know, greatsword combo... can't be choosers.

dodge left or right out of the uppercut.

simple longsword combo.

- can jump between uppercut and aerial attack.

highest damage katana (non swap) combo uploaded yet, and also easier much easier than the others around this much damage.

also, c.V (g) c.V ... has pretty much the same effect as counter H c.V ... so any grapple combos that start like this can also be done off a parry.

dagger saps knocks up the opponent enough for this combo.

better off doing full counterstrike with jumping vertical; this can be good with a higher damage dagger uppercut combo.

stamina strike equipped, this is the more interesting combo with more damage. unlike the variants that end with a focus attack, even with bad timing on the horizontal the stamina strike will hit; the final vertical requires the horizontal attack to hit completely.

any other combo ending with V V H will also be modified the same way. instead of a V as the last attack, H & j.H also work for less damage; maybe under certain condition you can extend the combo off them.

- hold forward to land in the right spot, experiment to find it.

stamina strike equipped, this combo is the simplest and most consistent. can be done exactly the same way as without stamina strike.

any other combo ending with V V V will also be modified the same way.

alternate way to do carousel after grapple infinite, not as easy as the crouching horizontal was but works. also, f.V is more damage than the third H, so do if you can.

this combo can be extended with the grapple infinite, so it can do as much damage as terrain allows.

infinite: ... + X * 240 (rare: 288 | epic: 336 | legendary: 384)

uppercut on dual blades can't be cancelled with weapon swaps or sheath. however, you can jump, so the way to weapon swap becomes 
jump > weapon swap.

similar the other weapon swap into greatsword combos, this does a lot of damage, more consistently and with less effort than single weapon combos.

hold dodging out of the uppercut may make this possible on lower latency. however, the horizontal focus attack doesn't have the same knock up as the other version; so keep that in mind if you learn both.

this is the knockback you'd expect from most weapon swap into greatsword combos as well.

choosing a normal combo over a counterstrike combo can be a good trade with high damaging combos. using ranged before starting the combo can pad the damage to make the trade off more rewarding.

not sure the best way to notate or document these combos; so this is a bit of a test. 

using non-headshot ranged damage.

any ranged weapon can be used.
have until parried opponent stands up to start combo.
can dodge, jump or crouch to weapon swap.
keep track of stamina.

this is an interesting and inconsistent combo, where you are able to avoid the knockback on the dualblades second vertical attack, by missing one of the hits.
there are probably different ways to miss the hit, however height seems to be the easiest, and for that reason this method probably only work at above 50ms latency.

even though the combo is inconsistent there's time to either finish this one or hold dodge vertical chase, so whiffing isn't that bad just a 43 base damage difference.

katana's sliding horizontal is one of my favourite animations.

H s.H does more damage than H (cc) H, or acca. you can also change the side you do your crouching vertical, similar to the sliding uppercut.

- can let melee aim assist control s.H
- can hold crouch during s.H
- hold left or right to cancel landing animation
- hold forward for some* time during uppercut
